This is an inspired exchange with well know meditation teacher Valerie Gangas. She has worked with all kinds of corporate clients and thousands of individuals, as well Oprah Winfrey and Harpo Studios. We talk about her wonderful new book, Enlightenment Is Sexy, and the massive shift she had after her mother died. At the tail end of the show we dive into the topic of reincarnation and past lives.

Once a self-proclaimed wild child, Valerie Gangas now holds a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Religious Studies and Women’s Studies from DePaul University and a Master of Arts in Transpersonal (spiritual) Psychology with a graduate level certificate in transformational life coaching from Sofia University. But after her mother’s passing, she slid into a dark, suicidal depression, only to recover (her whole Self) when she learned Transcendental Meditation and had a profound, 180-degree turnaround of perspective-what she refers to as an awakening.

Shortly after, she began working for the David Lynch Foundation, speaking all over the country about personal freedom, meditation and self-realization, and met Oprah Winfrey. When Valerie told her story to Oprah and some of her top executives, Oprah simply said, “I want what that girl has.”
