I have wanted to do a show on the topic of the transgender experience for a long time and fortunately the brilliant Paria Hassouri, MD (find her on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!) showed up to talk about her compelling new book, Found in Transition: A Mother’s Evolution during Her Child’s Gender Change. What a deeply personal tale of her journey with her daughter and how they transformed together. Since she is also a pediatrician, we also spoke about the effects on the COVID pandemic on children.

Paria Hassouri, MD, is the author of Found in Transition. A pediatrician, mother of three, and transgender rights activist, her essays have been published in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, The Huffington Post, and Women’s Running Magazine. She lives in Los Angeles.
