This is a highly inspiring and deeply connected exchange with the magnificent Koya Webb (find her on Instagram!) is an internationally recognized yoga teacher, celebrity holistic health coach, author, speaker, and vegan activist whose core mission is to promote daily self-care, oneness and eco friendly living to combat some of the worlds biggest challenges including mental health, social injustices and global warming.

Koya is the founder of Get Loved Up, an international lifestyle community and Yoga School that inspires mental, spiritual and physical health through an app, online courses, retreats, in-person yoga teacher training events and the Get Loved Up podcast.

She is also the author of Let Your Fears Make You Fierce: How to Turn Common Obstacles Into Seeds for Growth (Hay House, 2019), which addresses daily self assessment and mindfulness, understanding how to make fear your friend, and using the power of holistic health to heal– all messages she promotes to her devout Instagram following of over one million followers.

As a former competitive track and field athlete training for the Olympics, Koya first got introduced to yoga after a debilitating track injury. Once recognizing the physical and mental benefits of yoga, she shifted her focus to yoga, personal training, and life coaching — combining the work ethic of an athlete with practical holistic health practices that anyone can follow to live a healthy and active lifestyle.

Today, Koya has over 15 years of holistic studies. She is a registered RYT 500 yoga teacher, (with certifications in Ashtanga, Rayoka, SUP, AcroVinyasa and AYfit), NASM certified for personal training, and graduated from The Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN).

Through Get Loved Up, Koya aims to dramatically decrease the number of people who suffer with chronic diseases associated with an unhealthy diet and lifestyle through daily self-care, plant-based nutrition and eco-friendly living. The Get Loved Up app features various yoga flows, sculpting workouts and meditations, along with vegan recipes, progress charts and a community board to help users achieve and maintain their wellness goals. She also created Get Loved Up vegan protein powder to help her community maintain a healthy and strong vegan lifestyle.

Koya’s expertise has been featured on national media outlets such as Goop, Forbes, NBC, CBS, The Steve Harvey Show, Essence, the cover of Oxygen, and more. She also starred in the reality show Yoga Girls, and she’s had a roster of celebrity clients including Stevie Wonder, India Aire, P. Diddy, Ashley Judd, Rev Beckwith and Les Brown.

Koya is based in Marina Del Rey, California but considers the world her “home”.
