A beautiful and flowing conversation with the deeply connected Fabiana Fondevila on her new book, Where Wonder Lives: Practices for Cultivating the Sacred in Your Daily Life.

Fabiana Fondevila is a writer, speaker, ritual maker and teacher. Her work helps individuals bring forth their best selves with wonder and enthusiasm, while exploring the joy and challenge of offering our gifts to the world.  Hers is a world filled with the vivid enchantment of the ordinary, and also with the beckoning of the unexplored.

In her seminars she weaves dreamwork, myths and archetypes, rewilding practices, immensions into our shadow, and her hallmark work, cultivating what she calls the “essential emotions”: awe/wonder, hope, joy, gratitude, compassion and forgiveness.

She first researched these topics in depth as a journalist, as a writer and columnist for some of the main newspapers and magazines in Latin America, interviewing world renowned thinkers, philosophers, mystics and scientists, and then decided to shift gears, and begin a hands-on, heart-first personal exploration. For over a decade, she has led year-long courses (both online and face-to-face) which take students on a personal and communal adventure of growth and discovery, challenging themselves to come ever closer to being the change they wish to see in the world.

Fabiana also leads an online campaign to highlight and combat exclusion and discrimination and, since the pandemic began, has given regular Sunday talks (in Spanish, via Zoom and social media) to share a message of hope, resilience and her embodied, earthy approach to spirituality.

She is the author of a dozen children’s books, a Young Adult novel which in 2017 won second prize in Sigmar’s Children’s and Young Adults’ Literary Award. In 2018, she published her first book for adults, “Donde vive el asombro”. The English version, “Where Wonder Lives. Practices for Cultivating the Sacred in Your Daily Life”, was published by Inner Traditions in January 2021.
