This is an inspiring exchange with Donna Deegan, (find her on YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook!) who is running for the United States Congress in Florida’s 4th District. I defy anyone to listen to her passion and commitment to our collective well being and not come away extremely impressed. I certainly did. Our country is at a critical point in its evolution and we need visionary leaders like Donna involved in the halls of power on our behalf.

Award-winning journalist, philanthropist, marathoner, and Jacksonville native, Donna Deegan anchored the First Coast News for twenty-five years. She is the founder of The DONNA Foundation, a non-profit that provides financial assistance and support to families living with breast cancer. The three-time breast cancer survivor formed the organization in 2003 following her second diagnosis of the disease. To date, The DONNA Foundation has helped more than 14,000 Florida families with their critical needs. In 2008, Donna created 26.2 with DONNA, The National Marathon to Finish Breast Cancer, dedicated to breast cancer research and care. The event draws tens of thousands of runners and spectators to the First Coast each year. In addition, Donna is the author of two memoirs, is a wife and mother of two and lives in Atlantic Beach, Florida.
