When I met Andrew Gillum on a porch in Martha’s Vineyard, I knew instantly that I was connecting with someone extraordinary.  So it is with great excitement, we present him to our listening audience.  Andrew is an inspired leader and true visionary.  My hope is he will rally the people of Florida in his quest to be Governor to a higher level of love and effectiveness.  Please take a listen and if you feel moved, take a moment and support his quest for higher office.

Andrew Gillum is the Mayor of Tallahassee, Florida. He was born in Miami where his mother drove a school bus and his father was a construction worker. He was the first in his immediate family to graduate college and he went on to become the youngest person in history elected to the Tallahassee City Commission, before later becoming Mayor.

As Mayor, Andrew led to develop a thriving innovation economy, beat the gun lobby in court to protect commonsense reform and stood up to President Trump and Governor Rick Scott to defend immigrants. He welcomed Syrian refugees to Tallahassee and encouraged equal protection under the law for all people.

Under Andrew’s leadership, Tallahassee established workforce training programs for underrepresented workers as one of only 50 cities in the nation included in President Obama’s TechHire program. Andrew also helped lower violent crime in the City by more than 10 percent through increased investments in law enforcement, community policing, re-entry programs, and an expansion of social service funding.

He lives with his wife R. Jai and their three children in Tallahassee, Florida.
